Notes |
- From his daughter Martha: Worked in the coal mines and preached on Sundays, the only day of the week that he saw daylight, and he made $1.00 a day while working 12-14 hours a day. He was trapped inside a mine for 23 hours and almost drowned before they got him out. After that, he became a fulltime minister.
