Having sold my farm and am leaving for Missouri Territory on March 1, 1842, I will sell my personal property, except my two teams, wagons, and harness to the highest bidder for cash, consisting of: [long list of items]
Terms of sale, cash in hand. Sale will start at 8:00, plenty to eat and drink. Location of sale six miles east of Bristol, Tennessee, on Washington Turnpike.

Release From Prison in Vicksburg, Missssiippi
To All Whom It May Concern, Know ye That:
I Pleasant Looney a Private of Co. D 5th Reg't MO. Vols, C.S.A., being a prisoner of war, in the hands of the United States Forces, in virtue of the capitulation of the city of Vicksburg and its Garrison, by Lieut. Gen. John C. Pemberton, C. S. A., Commanding, on the 4th day of July 1863, do in pursuance of the terms of said capitulation, give this my solemn parole under oath.....That I will not take up arms again against the United States, nor serve in any military, police, or constabulary force in any Fort, Garrison, or field work, held by the Confederate States of America, against the United States of America, nor as guard of any prisons, depots or stores nor discharge any duties usually performed by Officers or soldiers against the United States of America, until duly exchanged by the proper authorities. A bill of sale was found in Franklin County, AR in book G, page 611, as follows:
Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration that P. Looney of Franklin County Arkansas indefrted to Jacob Menezi of Sebastian County Arkansas in the just and full sum of 59 fifty nine dollars for money in hand before the signing and delivering of this instrument, now therefore I P Looney do hereby, sell, transfer, assign and convey, to the said Jacob Menrzi 1. two horse timble skin wagon also one dark bay mare right eye out eight years old 15 fifteen hands high no brands. Also one dark bay mare blaze face and left hind food white ten years old 15 1/2 fifettn and a half hands high no brands, and the paid Jacob Menrzi is hereby authorized to take posession of the same at any time and control the same to his own use and benefit and account to me for the resid after deducting the amount found to be due him and all necessary expense at the market price of the same at the time and place of delivery. I do further convenant with the said Jacob Memzi that I will deliver the same to him or his agent at Big Creek Township Sebastian County Arkanasa on or before the first day of December 1877. On this 15th day of March 1877 before me L. M. Vance a Justice of the Peace within and for the County of Sebastian in the State of Arkansas appeared in person Pleasant Looney to me well known as the person whose name appears upon the within and foregoing bill of sale and states that he had executed the same for the consideration and purpose therein mentioned and set forth and I do hereby so certify.
